Following up on Melissa’s love and gratitude towards all the little things… I’m giving a shoutout to something ridiculous to many, but very near and dear to my heart – Dominick the Donkey.

I know that many people have a very unfortunate and negative reaction to Dominick. If I’m being honest, I’m not sure I want to be friends with those people.

I love this song. I love how ridiculous it is. I love that my ridiculous family members all burst out simultaneously in song when it comes on. I love the hee-haws at the end.

And I’m not ashamed.

I’m thankful for Dominick. I’m thankful for Lou Monte. I’m thankful for the smile he always brings to my face. I’m thankful for the fact that you can’t help but dance when you hear this song.

My love for Dom is simple and pure and fueled with the childlike magic of the Holiday Season!
